Lindsey Appleyard is an imaginative, confident 12 year-old extrovert who sees fun in the world around her. Since the age of 7, words and melodies have streamed from her mind uncensored by any fear of judgement or ridicule. Refreshingly witty songs with catchy rhythms and memorable hooks are the result of such creative freedom.
In March of 2008, Lindsey began training with vocal and songwriting instructor Becky Rash of Active Audio & Entertainment. Under Becky’s instruction, Lindsey composed "Funky Cow" and "Pharaoh in the House" free style. Becky explains, "She helps me create a beat and then she stands up to the mic and makes stuff up off the top of her head. Almost all that you hear is improvised with a little bit of development."
Lindsey began vocal training at the age of 8. Viola, percussion and flute lessons have broadened her understanding of music and enabled her to express her musical thoughts in various ways. Not only is Lindsey an accomplished singer and songwriter, but she has graced the stage as an actress and a dancer. At age 3, she began training in ballet, tap, jazz and modern dance. As part of Sylvia Young’s TheatreSchool and Young’Uns Agency in London, Lindsey played Aunt Em in The Wiz. She also attended the Deborah Day Stage School of London, the Cavat School of Theatre Arts and the OldPalaceSchool, a selective independent school, both in Croydon, England.
Now living in San Diego, California, Lindsey is much like other 12 year olds. She enjoys rock climbing, horseback riding, cheerleading and gymnastics and friends.
