DESCRIPTION: Pirates of old valued and appreciated music, so much so they would force musicians to join their crews. It may not have been cultured music, but 'twas usually something they could sing or dance to. There are many accounts by pirate victims describing music and a loud din from the attacking pirate ship which would put a fear into the victims. It was called "vapouring".
